There are no mmechanisms for redistribution of wealth. In Malawi, for example, taxes are spent on politician's travels, ministerial fleets of petrol-guzzling Mercedes, maintaining 6 or so presidential palaces, etc. The ordinary Malawian still struggles to get a single decent meal a day. Kids, especially girls still drop out of school in grade 4. Hospitals run on empty drug shelves. All the while, politicians are swimming in the luxuries of whatever little the country gets from taxing the poor!
