That binary is ridiculous though, because it implies that not being a horrible human being means you can’t make vibrant, entertaining, interesting, complex art. It implies that not being an offensive person means you are uninteresting or uncomplicated. Think bigger than that, because if being offensive as a person or offensive (i.e., cruel and inhumane) is your metric on the quality of art, doesn’t that get just as dull?
